Marvel SNAP Priority Guide – Greetings to all Snappers from ryordan_!
Today, I’m diving into a topic that’s crucial for all Marvel SNAP players, especially those who are new to the game. We’ve seen these questions pop up all over the web:
- What exactly is Priority?
- How can you determine who goes first during a turn?
- How do you gain or lose Priority during a match?
- And most importantly, what’s the significance of it all?
These are the burning questions that Marvel SNAP players have asked at least once, either online or during a live stream. No worries, though; this article is here to provide you with all the answers you seek about Priority and how to leverage it to your advantage! Follow this guide to get essential and practical tips on mastering this pivotal aspect of Marvel SNAP.
Marvel SNAP and the Concept of Priority
In simple terms, Priority dictates which cards get revealed first during a turn, allowing those cards to activate their abilities before your opponent’s. To determine who gets Priority in a specific hand, just check the blue-colored box where players’ names are listed.
In the first pic, player DOES NOT have Priority, while the second DOES. You can easily spot it by the golden light illuminating the edge of the blue/celeste box. If you see that glow, congratulations – you’ve got Priority! Otherwise, you don’t have it for that turn.
The game decides who gets Priority based on the match’s progress:
- If a player is leading in two out of three fields, they will gain Priority in the next turn, entitling them to flip all their cards before their opponent.
- If both players have zero points in a field, Priority goes to the player with the higher total points in the other two fields.
- In the case of a tie or at the start of each game, Priority is assigned RANDOMLY.
To make the most of this FUNDAMENTAL mechanic in Marvel SNAP, strategic planning is crucial. If you’re confident that going first will give you an edge, strive to retain Priority throughout the match, throwing off your opponent’s strategies. Conversely, if you believe that revealing your cards last can turn the tide in your favor, ensure your opponent goes first.
Remember, having Priority doesn’t automatically guarantee success; it’s about understanding how to use this mechanic to your advantage. The gameplay becomes deeper, and you’ll be able to maximize your moves once you’ve grasped this concept. Once you’ve mastered it, you’ll be a formidable force against any opponent in Marvel SNAP!
