Naafiri is too strong: the first nerfs are coming.
The debut of Naafiri was devastating for League Of Legends, as the champion arrived on the Summoner’s Rift with excessively high statistics. This posed a rather significant problem for Riot, which, already during the Italian night, was forced to release the first nerfs.
A maneuver as swift as it was necessary, targeting almost her entire kit. At the time of writing, all the changes mentioned below are already available on the live servers.
Let’s now take a look together at what the modifications will be and, most importantly, whether they will be able to rein in a doggone too powerful pup.
The first nerfs for Naafiri
Riot’s statements
“Naafiri has finally been released, and overall, we are content with her playstyle and her MMR, itemization, as well as the profile of her strengths and weaknesses. However, her numbers are too high. Currently, she has a 54% win rate in the mid lane in average MMR and 50% in high MMR. We expect both of these values to rise, so we are making some minor nerfs to bring her to a good spot.
We understand that she is currently quite weak in the jungle, but since the mid lane is her primary role, we will withhold adjustments for that role for now, even though she will have jungle support since it’s a suitable role for her for the players.”
Nerf details
- Base stats: Reduced movement speed from 340 to 335
- Q: Reduced bleeding damage from 30/65/100/135/170 + 80% bonus AD to 30/60/90/120/150 + 80% bonus AD – Minion damage reduced from 70% to 60%
- E: Reduced crossing damage from 35/55/75/95/115 + 70% bonus AD to 30/50/65/80/95 + 60% bonus AD – Explosion damage reduced from 65/105/145/185/225 + 100% bonus AD to 65/100/135/179/205 + 90% bonus AD
- R: Reduced AD boost from 10/20/30 (+15/20/25%) to 5/15/25 (+8/16/24%)
