Faker returns to training after the injury
Faker is the most iconic and important face of competitive League of Legends, and seeing him struggle due to an injury has saddened fans worldwide. The Immortal Demon King had to take a momentary break, prioritizing his health and recovery.
But despite it all, it appears that the legendary Korean midlaner is now almost ready to reclaim the stage. In fact, according to coach Tom, the captain of T1, Faker will resume training very soon.
Let’s try to understand together when we can expect to see the multiple world champion back in action, drawing from the words of his coach.
Faker returns to training
The injury
As many of you may know, since June 17, 2023, an annoying arm problem started plaguing Faker in a chronic manner. We’re talking about a real injury that forced T1’s midlaner to take a break for treatment.
The treatment, as of the time we are writing this, seems to be yielding results, but we have yet to receive a definite date for Faker’s return to the LCK stage.
According to Bengi, former head coach of T1, Faker would have missed at least two weeks of competition, which makes us think that we might see him back on the field as early as July 21 in the match against Hanwha Life Esports. However, despite the predictions, there are currently no certainties regarding this. Yet, it seems that something is in motion.
Statements from coach Tom
In a recent press conference held last week after the matches against Nongshim RedForce and Dplus, T1’s coach was repeatedly questioned about Faker’s health. The coach didn’t beat around the bush but instead left some room for a possible return in the short term.
“He hasn’t played solo queue in the past week, but he has successfully focused on his treatment. In the upcoming week, he will train individually to assess the condition of his arm and wrist. If there are possibilities for him to play, the team will make an official announcement. His condition could worsen due to training. So, we just have to wait and see.”
